Day 1: Nairobi

On arrival at the Nairobi airport, you’ll be met by our representative and transferred to the Hotel. Afternoon visit to the National Museum bird gallery and thereafter a short bird-walk within the museums botanical garden. Birds anticipated here include the variable sunbird, bronze sunbird, African goshawk, collard sunbird, baglafetch weaver and the palm swift among others.

Day 2: Nairobi – Lake Elementaita

Morning departure to Lake Elementaita arriving in the mid-morning for a bird walk identifying available species found here like the Feral lovebird, Avocet, Klaas’ cuckoo, Glossy ibis, Black heron, Red-billed Teal, Black-tailed godwit among others before lunch.  An afternoon bird-walk around the lodge environs returning to the lodge in time to catch the sunset opposite the lake.

Day 3: Lake Elementaita – Lake Naivasha

After breakfast, we depart to Lake Naivasha arriving by mid-morning for a bird walk before time for lunch at the Lodge. Lake Naivasha is a freshwater Lake and was in 1967 declared a bird sanctuary the region also supports wine industries and horticultural farms. Dominated by the shadow of Mt. Longonot, few lakes in the world have a more commanding or spectacular setting than Naivasha. Lake Naivasha being on the Rift floor is home to a variety of over 400 bird species.

An afternoon boat ride and this afternoon we study the birds found here such as herons, fish eagles, ospreys, black crakes, and lily-trotters.
Late evening visit to the Elsamere Center. Activities include reliving the experience of Joy Adamson and Elsa while viewing the film “Born Free.” Lake Naivasha being on the Rift floor is home to an incredible variety of species. Over 450 species have been recorded here. Dinner and overnight stay at Lake Naivasha Lodge.

Day 4: Lake Naivasha

After breakfast, a morning bird walk within the lodge gardens then return to the lodge for rest before lunch.
Afternoon visit to Hell’s Gate National Park that is a breeding ground for Lammergeyer vultures, and also anticipate species like Imperial eagle, Schalow’s wheatear, Chin spot batis.

Day 5: Lake Naivasha – Lake Nakuru National Park

After breakfast depart for Lake Nakuru National Park known for its vast numbers of Flamingoes that cover the lake giving it a pink shine. Afternoon game/bird viewing drive.

Day 6: Lake Nakuru National Park

Today we will spend the whole day with packed lunch bird watching and if lucky enough we have the chance to see the elusive Leopard before returning to the lodge. In the evening it's time to relax for a recap of the days find.

Day 7: Lake Nakuru – Masai Mara

Breakfast at the camp then depart via Narok town to Masai Mara Game Reserve arriving in time for lunch.

The Masai Mara National Reserve offers 1510 sq km of incredible wide-open landscapes and fertile riverine woodland following the looping meanders of the Mara and Talek rivers. Wherever you go wildlife is abundant such as Masai giraffe, baboons, warthogs, bat-eared foxes, grey jackals, spotted hyena, topis, impala, hartebeests, wildebeest. Elephants, buffaloes, zebras and hippos.

The main attraction being the annual wildebeest migration that takes place in July and August when more than a million of these grass eaters move north from the Serengeti in search of lusher grass before turning south again in October.
Afternoon game drive then return to the camp by sunset.

Day 8: Masai Mara

An early morning birding/wildlife game drive after breakfast with picnic lunch.  A day spent in Mara Plains trying to identify and record the over 450 species record in this reserve.

Day 9: Masai Mara – Nairobi 

After breakfast, we drive back to Nairobi arriving in time for lunch at the Utamaduni Restaurant then check-in for a day room at a Nairobi hotel. Farewell dinner Later in the evening, thereafter you will be transferred to the airport in time for your international departure flight.
